Well huzzahs - huzzahs to you for listening, huzzahs to anyone whose voice or sound effects or music or handiwork of some kind contributed to making this podcast - we are at the final episode of Season One.
And I DO hope to make Season two! What shall we do? What to explore / to highlight / help raise awareness of? Ping us if you know - quirkyvoices@gmail.com
Thanks again to the Pulse Award funding for enabling this fun and informative pod to happen.
In this episode Charlie is still in her panic bath, trying to hide from Gabby and Rachel - but Gabby has other ideas and appears at her window - things do however go....slightly awry.
In the main interview section I talk all things mental health with the condition, and things I have tried to help me over the years. Julie Wheeler tells us how and when to recognise that maybe we need to seek medical professional help, and kindly signposts further places to gain help and information to help you.
This has been a superbly enlightening series to create - I know, I know it is ambitious, but I truly hope the format and info within helps someone gain confidence in themselves to be proactive and seek help, for listeners to reach out to pals or family, and for people to realise they are not alone in their suffering, they do not have to be, and there is help out there - even now, in this crazy.
SO. THANK YOU for your support - please do share this pod far and wide to help it get to the people I made it for, and, if that is you, hugs from here to there for whatever you are going through. You will get through this. You will rebuild yourself.
So Thank you for listening, and sharing.
And....to my cast especially - Heartfelt thanks - to the regulars Diane Alexander, Lucy Shirley, Lara Parker, Kirstin Stansfield - I bloody love you - but you know that. And to my cameo players - Fiona Thraille and Paul Golding - couldn't have done this without you! Thank youp.

HelLo you fabulous fiction loving folks of audio loving joy
Hope you are having a groovy fun filled day in whatever way gets you through this current crazy....
On release day here in the Uk it is a beautiful sunny day, and the world turns with us still on it, I often think of myself sitting here typing something or editing something and then zshumm up to see me as a birds eye view, typing, editing, then up further to see my house from the sky, then up further to see the country from space, then up further to see the planet revolving, and then zshumm back down in mini speed bursts to each distance increment back to me typing here through my eyes. . And that's some mindfulness right there. You've just done it too. Groovy...
So today's ep still focuses on elements of my life journey with eczema. What treatments I have had, things I have felt and thought and felt through the eyes of Charlie in the audio fiction segment, as well as in my own words.
The wonderful Julia Wheeler joins us once again to give top tips on how to help yourself if you have this condition. I do hope this is useful -do contact us via quirkyvoice@gmail.com if you want to feedback anything that has been helpful, or resonated with you in any of the episodes, or if you just want to say halloooo...doooo!
Thanks to Matt Hutt and Zak Lemon for the grooviest of music.
Thanks so much to my wondrous cast - today you only really heard from the fantabulous Lucy Shirley as Rachel and Lara Parker as Gabby, and Fiona Thraille as Jill, who also executive produces this podcast. You can also find her own audio fiction awesome on the Dashing Onions Website here.
Still gotta thank Diane Alexander, and Kirstin Stansfield for their general awesome and support. I am sure you will agree all the contributors are amazing for sharing their stories, and their courageousness in doing so has only been to help folks like you! As folks have continually told me, real life stories resonate the most...and use of verbatim moments and playing with dramatic fiction to highlight the reality of these conditions has seemingly been very effective to bring home elements of the true reality of living with these conditions.
Thanks to my parents and fam for supporting me through my life’s crazy, and to my man and my kids who just lift me, make me laugh, make me proud, help me through my bad times and make my life so much more.
Hope your day is a good one....and if you are having a crazy flare up right now, by reading this sentence, I am sending you vibes of good health and happiness and healing. Drink water. Go moisturise and....look after yourself yeah?

Hello YOU WONDEROUS people of my timeline...or of the future....hey!
How’s your world?
Today we delve into the lows of the life of an exzematic.....what it might well be like behind many a closed door, as folks cope with acute all over body pain and the reality of a true flare of the chronic skin condition known as eczema.
I AM....ECZEMATIC.. I AM...ASTHMATIC... I'M HYDRATOLOGICAL, WHY I'M GREASED NIGHTLYYYYYY
In the audiofiction, Charlie can only function in bed. Oh c'mon, not like that. It’s a school day, a day she isn’t meant to work, and her neighbours have seen the kids to school, and her husband is away. Sods law of course. She talks from her bed about what it is like...those crippling days. She reflects on how eczema has shaped her, and her thoughts about herself....her relationships. And yes, aspects of this are autobiographical. And yes, I did want to share my angst about finding someone amazing and fun to show you can be loved, and to show that, no matter how low you go, there is hope to find that groovy someone, cos....if I can....you certainly can. And he - Paul - makes my everyday even more amazing. So.....the sage advice here is....just be you, and....go out and enjoy yourself. Life has its crazy surprises - go gettemmm....
The interview section is...er....slightly different for reasons that obvs I usually interview the guest. Hope what I’ve done works ok and isn’t too....ridiculous....and our wonderous expert is a Dermatology nurse, the fabulous Julia Wheeler.
I do want to point out that obviously, she is very much following the NICE guidelines in her recommendations, and that there are....a good number of other options of treatment available to us sufferers that we don’t go into as those are not her specialism. I would like to continue to explore the eczematic treatments of things in future podcasts, so, if you are an alternative therapist, or have tried something worth shouting about, do contact me on quirkyvoices@gmail.com.
Thanks so much to my wondrous cast - today you only really heard from the fantabulous Fiona Thraille as Jill, who also executive produces this podcast. You can also find her own audio fiction awesome on the Dashing Onions Website here.
Still gotta thank Diane Alexander, Lara Parker, Lucy Shirley, and Kirstin Stansfield for their general awesome, and do hope you check out their episodes on PTSD, Anxiety and Depression, Post Natal Depression and Endometriosis......they’re all super heroes x

I so appreciate every. single. listen xx
This is the third ep of three telling Diane's story / Flo's story....and looks at why she feels how she does, and finds some ways of helping cope with the worst of times. Diane has been simply amazing to be courageous and brave enough to share her story - and I would love to hear from anyone who has found her sharing useful or resonant with your story too. That goes for any of the ladies stories - they are real people, they talk frankly about their real lives, and this...is why....I love em...

Hidden.

Flo is found in hibernation mode at home, and tells of her gentle trauma at even seeing folks who remind her of the man who sexually assaulted her, and the girls rally round to support her. In Diane's interview she recounts thoughts and feelings about therapy, about being proactive and positive, and Kylie Salholm give us advice on how folks suffering this mental health issue can help themselves..
The WHOLE point of me and my audio pals making this is to encourage you to empower yourself to get help, to make the first steps in recognising that you need help if you need it, and to nurture friends and family and a sense of community, whatever your condition - healthy or otherwise.

Here’s those links to the audio fiction shows I mentioned today
I do hope this week has been a positive one in your world, and you’re getting some good support and cuddles where you need it...or at least air hugs at a distance...
We start our first focus on the impact of PTSD, Anxiety and Depression. Often experienced in self imposed isolation - before even all this mass imposed...isolation. We all can have low mood...right? Times when things are heavy and pressing or friendships or relationships Or finance or circumstance take a turn, and leaves us morose, feeling low and upset. Not wanting to do, to speak, to move.
This episode looks at what happens when a traumatic event is the cause, and how the aftermath of that might make folks feel and behave, and feel sometimes overwhelmed, but how talking, how therapy, self care and love and friendship can help you mend and continue to live more...positively.
I must make clear that the traumatic event was a sexual assault, so please be aware of that before you listen if this will in any way affect you. Thank you.
Diane Alexander is the focus for interview in the next few eps - she plays Flo in the audio fiction and this week we find her struggling on her own, feeling more than low and getting flashbacks to a traumatic event. We hear her in therapy and finding life too much in crowded places.
In her frank interview, Diane details how the PTSD, anxiety and depression manifests, and what she has done to help herself live positively. I am sure you’ll agree her sharing this aspect of her life is brave and amazing, with the soul reason to encourage others to seek help and guidance if they have had a similar event...male or female, trans or non-binary folks....please talk..please seek help because this world needs amazing folks like you in it.
I have put many links to websites and places with phone numbers and hotlines for UK and USA on my website - QuirkyVoices@weebly.com Please ping me any other sites of use that i can happily add for folks to find. Thank you.

I have to point out at this juncture BLACK LIVES MATTER and TRANS LIVES MATTER to us at Quirky Voices VERY MUCH...I work and play with folks from all of these wonderous communities and, well, I have really been overwhelmed by the sadness and tragedy concerning Civil and Trans rights, my workload and world events and that of things closer to home as well as my own health of late, and so we had an unexpected mini break - to hopefully also leave room for other voices as well as find our own - but we're back and woah have we got some eps for you!...I would LOVE to hear from anyone in the Trans and or Black communities who have or are suffering with these conditions - share your story do!
Thanks also to our medical professional Matthew Walker whose list of job titles is longer than my body(!) and works in many fields of public facing research and development in epilepsy. I appreciate very very much Matthew and Lucy's input into these next few episodes, and I'm sure you will too!

Hallo you wonderful folks! -'s me! Sarah Golding - hallooooo.
I do hope you’re wellllll!
This is the last of 3 eps on Peri/ Post Natal Depression, focusing on Gabby’s made up and Lara’s real life story, with some medical professional advice from the fabulous Tracy Greenwood.
In our audio fiction today, Gabby talks about her experience of hyper-anxiety, comparing herself to other mums, being cross with her husband peacefully sleeping when she's wide awake...the girls rally round to show Gabby the best support they can - by listening and enabling Gabby talk - and Flo... in a state of highness from her anxiety drugs does something to make Gabby feel....special! This was SO MUCH fun to record! I cannot divulge if bra's were or were not burnt in this episode!
The wonderful Tracy Greenwood of The Blackpool Teaching Hospital’s NHS Trust talks about how folks - not just mums but dad's too - can start to recognise that they may need help - the signs and signals to look out for. I am hugely grateful to Tracy for giving up her time and sharing her fantastic expertise.....
In the last of her interviews, Lara Parker talks top tips coping once babe has arrived, talks of the importance of supportive partners and surviving poonamis. I am sure you'll agree, Lara is amazing...for sharing such a personal part of her life's journey to hopefully help others, and to make a difference.

EPISODE THE FIFTH - POST NATAL DEPRESSION - COLLAPSE
Hallo folks!
Sarah Golding here. I do hope you’re wellllll!
This is the second of three eps. on Post Natal Depression, focussing on Gabby’s made up and Lara’s real life story, with some medical professional advice.
In our audio fiction today, Freya turns up, and obviously some sparks fly with Gabby's low mood and Freya’s reaction to Gabby's of-the-moment quite frankly awful words! We fathom why Gabby feels so worried about how to be and what to do because of the painful legacy of her previous pregnancy.....and she admits that it is so much better to be able to share these thoughts and not go it alone..
The wonderful Tracy Greenwood of The Blackpool Teaching Hospital’s NHS Trust talks about how folks can help themselves if the post or peri natal depression has started to take over. Thank you so much to Tracy for these signposting and advice, and I hope you folks do look into mindfulness....it can be a useful grounding for you and your here and now rather than the whirlwind of your everyday.
Lara Parker talks frankly on the key aspects of the condition that took its toll during and after her pregnancy. I find it fascinating. Touching on the whole how others see you and that whole dark place of continually comparing yourself to others...hyper anxiety is a terrible thing. We talk breastfeeding, the hardships of socialising as a mum when you’re feeling low, and helping babe conquer reflux and Poo problems. I love that her husband engineered a stream of people coming to see Lara and babe to help combat the isolation.....maybe something for partners to think on if they feel their other half is having potential issues with their mental health and or depression. Pass it on!
”As long as you’re happy, and your baby is safe and you are safe, you will have a happy baby” Lara Parker 2020

EPISODE THE FOURTH - GROWTH
Helloooo! Sarah Golding here. Hope you’re doing ok in this....current phase of our quirky lives..... Cos. It is a phase isn’t it? Just as the body is flooded with hormones to make life, support life, to give birth? We'll get through this huh? Like Gabby does. Like Lara has.
Our focus for the next few weeks is peri natal and post natal depression. The wonderful Lara Parker’s Gabby is the focus of our audiofiction, and finds out she is expecting again, and SHE IS NOT HAPPY AT ALL. We hear how her first pregnancy with Daisy nearly broke her, and just why she ‘doesn’t want’ to be pregnant with this baby. EPISODE THE THIRD - FUSED
Hello and Welcome to Episode Three of Anyone F’Coffee🎉🎉🎉
Thank you HUGELY for listening to our focused eps on endometriosis - with KIRSTIN STANSFIELD sharing her own actual life experience, and also there's some great guidance as to where and how folks can get help from FAYE FARTHING of Endometriosis-UK! Thanks also for your feedback to quirkyvoices@gmail.com -we’ll read some of that out in future episodes! Please do feel free to write to us about any aspect of the podcast....we love to hear from you!
In this final part of the audio fiction focusing on endometriosis, Freya explores what it was like going into and coming out of the operation, and shares how her pain affects her, and what therapies she has tried to combat the pain.
In her interview, Kirstin reveals how she felt about and coped with elements of going in for her operation and aftercare, and alternative treatments.
The last part of this 2nd episode answers question 3 with help from Faye Farthing, Campaign Manager of Endometriosis-uk.
How do people with - or suspecting they have - this condition recognise that they might need help?
Thanks so much to Faye for this useful and brilliant information. Next week, we look at POST NATAL/PERI NATAL DEPRESSION through interviews with Lara Parker, and through the eyes and speeches of Gabby in the Audio drama, and Id like to welcome TRACY GREENWOOD to the Anyone F'Coffee team who give some unmissable advice on how and where to get help...
In this episode, I created all effects within audacity, and made some home Foley for the sitting on the sofa and tea and coffee sounds that weren’t recorded live in the mix to add to the soundscape of the lounge! Links to sound effects on the Quirky Website.
Music was by Matt Hutt and Zac Lemon - love it! Isn't it groovy...? Battle cry music is by Airwolf and can be sourced here Plus the gorgeous end music is by Kirstin's talented Father-In-Law Alec Stansfield - links to all information about 7-11 breathing can be found here in the IN-8 website. You can purchase the tracks too if you want! Thank you to Alec for giving permission for us to use one of the tracks - it plays out at the end of the episode so this is why the ep is so much longer but I am sure it will help to relax you! CAST - Diane Alexander, Lara Parker, Lucy Shirley, Sarah Golding, Fiona Thraille as anaesthetist, and HUZZAHS for KIRSTIN STANSFIELD. Thank you Kirstin for sharing so much of your personal experience and thoughts, and to all my cast - BLOOMIN' LOVE YA!

EPISODE TWO - ‘RAW’
Hello and Welcome to Episode Two of Anyone F’Coffee. In the audio fiction segment, we find what it’s like for Freya to cope with her pain, and Rachel suffers an ‘absence’. A moment of confusion and disorientation that some folks with epilepsy experience - sometimes many times daily, sometimes sporadically, sometimes before a bigger ‘episode’, and often folks have no idea what they are. The pals all try and give ways of helping to deal with period pain and mention their own menstrual health....
In her interview, Kirstin reveals how she felt about and coped eith elements of going in for her operation and aftercare, and how endometriosis affects her day to day.
The last part of this second episode answers question 2 -
How can people with this condition or suspect they have it, help themselves?
Campaign Manager of Endometriosis-uk -Faye Farthing gives some fabulous help and pointers so. thanks so much to Faye for this useful and brilliant information. Next week, we look at Q3 - When do folks need to recognise that they need help?
In this episode, I created all effects within audacity, and made some home Foley for the sitting on the sofa and tea and coffee sounds that weren’t recorded live in the mix to add to the soundscape of the lounge!
Music was by Matt Hutt and Zac Lemon - love it! Isn't it groovy...? CAST - Diane Alexander, Lara Parker, Lucy Shirley, Sarah Golding, Fiona Thraille and introducing KIRSTIN STANSFIELD. Thank you Kirstin for sharing so much of your personal experience and thoughts, and to all my cast - BLOOMIN' LOVE YA!
The Audio fiction segment was recorded in the Mysterious Movies Podcast and film studios in SEER GREEN, BUCKS. Please do contact CELINERICHDARLEY@gmail.com for info and bookings! EPISODE ONE - 'FLOORED'.
Hello! And welcome to ANYONE F'COFFEE - A NEW Women's Health Podcast and a groovy PULSE AWARD funded must-listen-to pod - gently nurtured into this world by help from those amazing folks at The British Podcast Awards and The Wellcome Trust.
Thanks for that folks!
This week's episode - and they are coming out weekly - focuses on Endometriosis. A condition we explore through the real life experience of real life Kirstin Stansfield....teacher, medieval historian, amdram pal and friend of mine.
We explore in this episode what it is, how she was treated, how she felt as she went along and why it was so hard to get diagnosed. After the interview with Kirstin is a fun segment of audio fiction (written by me) exploring the relationship of 5 characters with the conditions this podcast explores, all connecting over a cuppa, and finally sharing elements of their personal journeys. This is part verbatim and part theatricalise and I hope it makes you love these people and characters as much as I do! The last part of each episode will be an interview with a person in the now - either a medical professional or someone working closely with folks with the condition. They will be answering three questions -
1) How and where can folks with this condition or suspecting they have it find help and information? 2) How can they help themselves? 3) When do they need to recognise that they need help?
Today we explore Q1 WITH THE LOVELY Faye Farthing - CAMPAIGN MANAGER at Endometriosis-uk.
Below are links to the references we make in the podcast ep, and to the sound effects I used in my original audio fiction.
